The Northern California Stars slugged their way to a national championship on Friday afternoon at Tempe Diablo Stadium, with a 15-6 pounding over the Sacramento Stars. Nor Cal second baseman, Dirk Thompson was the games MVP, with two, two run homers and six rbi's. Thompson was three for five and reached base four times. Winning pitcher, Kevin Rawitzer pitched the entire game, striking out seven and allowing just five earned runs. He limited the powerful Sacramento lineup to eleven hits, while walking only one batter. Stars right fielder, Andre White also enjoyed a good day at the plate, he went three for five with a solo home run and two rbi's. Sacramento hard luck starter, Joe Labue gave up eight runs in two and a third innings and was the loser. Nor Cal came out swinging and scored eleven runs in the first five innings to build an 11-4 lead. Sacramento Giants center fielder, Quinn Gregory was three for three, with two rbi's and reached base three times.
