Location: Canada College
Time: 10am
Opponent: BAMSBL American 28+ All Stars
Final Score 16- 6 Game called due to time after 8 innings -
MVP Orlando Kelly from the Tri Valley Indians opened the scoring with a 2 run homer in the top of the first as Tri Valley never trailed in thier second route of the Bay Area American 28+ All Stars in as many years. Following last year's 17-0 drubbing, this year's game has to be considered close.
Bill Hawkins lead a staff that held the Bay Area in check all game long, with Darren Dresson, Mark McLeod all pitching well with Alex Franklin closing the Bay Area out.
Our hitters punished all the pitchers the Bay Area had to throw at us, ending the game with with 18 hits in 8 innings, multiple walks and 16 runs scored. Skip Teague, Matt Galla, Orlando Kelly, and Walt Wellsfry all had multiple hit games as we found the pitching to our liking.

The TVMSBL 28+ National All Star Team used 4 irregular double plays and late inning long balls to defeat the scrappy BAMSBL squad 8-4. After what had been a pitching and defensive show for much of the game, Todd Gonzales (San Ramon Blue Jays) and Anthony Jones (NorCal Stars) both powered 2-run homers in the 8th inning to put the game on ice. Rook Jones (NorCal Stars) chipped in two hits while 12 other TVMSBL teammates also tallied a hit. Mark Murray (San Ramon Blue Jays) reached safely in each at-bat with 2 walks and a double. Mark O'Neill (TV Red Sox) was the winning pitcher of record and Kevin Ward (East Bay Oaks) recorded the save. Starting pitcher Larry Garza (San Ramon Blue Jays) came away with the MVP award for his scoreless 3 innings of work in which he only allowed 2 singles. Sean Lake (SF Phillies) was the hitting star for the BAMSBL squad, as he went 2-for-3 and scored 2 runs.

38+ AMERICAN ALLSTAR GAME SUMMARY
While the outcome was never in doubt the mighty All Star squad from Tri-Valley once again proved to strong for the Bay Area All Stars. Final score of 12 to 8 looks closer than the game actually was as the Bay Area team scored 4 of their 8 runs in the last inning.. The games most valuable player honors went to Rick Knight. Rick's home run in the first inning set the tone of the game as the Tri-Valley stars went on the compile 12 runs off some of the finer pitching the BAMSBL had to offer. Good solid defense and excellent pitching from 4 top Tri-Valley pitchers cleared the path for Tri-Valley to continue their dominance over the Bay Area league.

Tri-Valley 38 National All-Stars beat the Bay Area All-Stars, for the second
time in as many years, 7-5. Mike Calhoun, Daryl Mullin, Gary Spitzak and
Chuck Gibson all pitched well for the TV Stars, giving up just 2 unearned
runs in the first 5 innings. Gibson notched the win, as the closer.
In the seventh, with the scored tied at 3, Dale Robbins hit a two run homer,
to put TV ahead 5-3. BA came right back, in the top half of the eighth, to
tie the game at 5 apiece. In the bottom half of the inning, the other big
blow, was a 2 out, bases loaded, single by game MVP Bob DeMercurio, who also
made a diving catch in left field. That hit put TV ahead to stay, 7-5. Bob
Segura had a double, BB and a run scored, while Darrin Danforth scored twice
for the winners.Submitted by Leo Costa
